Christoph, the Chief Executive of Azure Wealth, is well-known industry leader and a highly experienced Private Banker who has held numerous senior roles in the course of over 30 years in London, New York and Switzerland. Prior to joining Azure, he worked for HSBC Private Bank, serving as CEO of the Zurich branch and later, as Head of HSBC Private Bank in London. Earlier, Christoph spent 21 years with UBS where he was responsible for expanding the bank’s presence in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
Christoph has an extensive understanding of the Trust industry having led that business in UBS and later serving as chairman of the HSBC Guyerzeller Trust Company.
Lord Cobham brings considerable experience in fund management and financial markets to his role as Chairman of Azure Wealth. Prior to joining the firm he served as Chairman and CEO of NCL Investments Ltd., until its merger with Smith & Williamson. Subsequently, as Deputy Chairman of Smith & Williamson, he was responsible for fund management.
Lord Cobham is Chairman of Eclipse VCT, serves as board member and advisor to numerous charitable concerns around the UK, and oversees the family’s ancestral estate, Hagley Hall.
Massimo is a veteran private banker who spent 20 years with UBS culminating as desk head for Italy, Spain, Latin America and North America/Canada. In 1998 he founded WMS as an independent wealth manager, merging with the Chiltern Group in 2001. When Chiltern Wealth Management Ltd was acquired by EFG Private Bank in 2006 he led the integrated business as Managing Director for five years. Massimo has focused his entire career on serving high net worth clients and in particular non-domiciled individuals and leads client relationship management at Azure Wealth.
Morteza started his career in Geneva in 1985 with former American Express Bank (now, Union Bancaire Privée). After several years in Geneva and New-York, he joined the Middle East team. In 1994, he joined Julius Baer group as Vice President, where he developed new markets such as Greece, Turkey, Iran and part of the Middle East. In 2011, after 26 years in private banking and 16 years with Julius Baer, Morteza left his position at the Bank to found Azure Wealth Switzerland.
Jonathon has extensive experience in serving the needs of global entrepreneurs through a bespoke combination of private bank and investment banking services. A Partner at Azure Wealth, Jonathon started his career in London in 1999 within JPMorgan Chase and later moved to their Private Bank, servicing Ultra High Net Worth individuals from Western Europe. In early 2007, he joined Barclays Wealth in their International Division where he swiftly became one of their youngest Director Bankers, covering Russian, CIS and EE regions in addition to the Developed Markets.
Jonathon is a dual UK and French citizen who graduated from the Rouen Graduate School of Management, France and from Sophia University, Tokyo, Japan.
Prior to joining Azure Wealth, Gianmarco oversaw the European/US Equity absolute return equity book for Exor Spa -- the holding company of the Agnelli family. Gianmarco has also worked at Caxton Europe Asset Management and Pioneer Investment Management, where he was responsible for developing the European Equity Income strategy. At Azure Wealth Gianmarco is responsible for formulating the investment strategy together with Hendrik van Riel and the Investment Committee.
Hendrik van Riel has over 30 years experience in Asset Management and Investment Banking. Following a long and distinguished international career with JP Morgan Asset Management, he retired from his position as Managing Director in 2001 and has since served as Chairman, Board Member and Investment Advisor to several major investment companies.
From 2006 to 2009, he was a founding Partner with Lentikia Cayman Management Limited, and the Investment Manager of the Brocade Fund, a global macro hedge fund. He has been a Director of the Boards of the Opus Family of Funds since 2002 and of Squanto Cayman Ltd, Investment Manager of BNS Fund since 2003. Hendrik is also the current President of the Board of Directors of ECP International SA and a Board Member and advisor to the d'Amico Group.
Paolo draws on over three decades of experience in the investment advisory and wealth management business to benefit our clients. Prior to joining Azure Wealth, Paolo was CEO of Credit Suisse Private Bank Italy, and before that, Head of Deutsche Morgan Grenfell Italy. Paolo currently serves as a Board member for the ERG Group in Italy.
A Partner of Azure Wealth, Nima is responsible for business strategy and sits on the Firm’s Board and Management Committee playing an active role in the strategic direction and operational running of the business. Prior to Azure, Nima was the Co-Head of Retail Structured Equity Trading at RBS, and has extensive experience in trading exotic derivatives. Nima earned his degree in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics from the London School of Economics.
Niels is a Partner of Azure Wealth and a member of the FIrm’s Board and Management Committee. A Director and advisor for a range of companies in the fields of commercial real estate, financial and professional services, Niels is the former Head of Hotel Investments and Asset Management at Union Investment Real Estate. Earlier in his career he specialised in Private Equity and Mergers and Acquisitions at Credit Suisse and in REIT Equity Research at Smith Barney. Niels holds an MBA from Yale School of Management and a BA in Economics from Brown University.
A former strategy consultant to multinational companies, Chris entered the investment world in 1994 as the US/European business manager for UBS' Global Equity Derivatives (GED) division. He left five years later to lead a private equity backed bank as Group CEO. Since 2000 Chris has served on the Board of an Austrian Bank, US/UK Broker Dealer, Fund of Hedge Funds and Structured Products Boutique. Chris is the founder of Fraserburgh, a specialist Intellectual Property consulting firm and is recognized by Intellectual Asset Management as one of their Top 250 Global Strategists. At Azure, Chris is the partner directly responsible for brand strategy, business risk management and regulatory oversight.
Jean-Pierre is responsible for Azure Wealth’s Investment Advisory Service. Prior to joining the firm, Jean-Pierre was Director and Head of the Investment Advisory function in Barclays’ International Private Bank in London. Formerly, he served as Head of Research at the European Capital Markets Institute, where he maintains research fellow status. Since 2010 he has also been a Visiting Professor in the Economics Department of the College of Europe in Bruges. A prolific writer, Jean-Pierre is a contributor to the Financial Times and The Economist, and has been regularly consulted by regulatory authorities and governments. Jean-Pierre holds a Master’s Degree in Economics with Honours from the College of Europe and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Economics from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
Marko is the Chief Operating Officer at Azure Wealth and has over 15 years of experience in the Financial Services industry. Prior to the joining the firm, Marko served as interim COO at Vestra Wealth. Marko began his career at Deloitte consulting, where he managed a large number of strategy and operational assignments with the leading organisations in the industry. Subsequently he joined the Private Bank division of Investec where he became COO of the European Wealth Management business with the overall responsibility for all operational, risk management and administrative aspects of this multi-jurisdictional business.
Paul has more than 25 years’ investment experience working with a broad range of professional advisors and their clients across multiple jurisdictions. He worked for 12 years with Schroders in London and for 10 years with GAM in London & Bermuda.
In addition to working with his clients, Paul has a long association with the Society of Trustees & Estates Practitioners (STEP), where he is a frequent guest speaker and a member of the Oversight Board for their Trustee Managed Portfolio Indices.
Paul holds a BSc. (Honours) Degree in Banking and International Finance from The City University, London.
A senior member of Azure Wealth’s client advisory team in Geneva, Igal has over 15 years experience in the private banking and wealth management industries. He began his career at Bank Safdié as a relationship manager and then at Bank Hapoalim. In 2000 he joined HSBC as an Associate Director where he developed European markets and subsequently joined Julius Baer in 2008 as Executive Director focused on local clientele.
Igal holds a BA of Finance from University of Geneva.
Priscilla joined Azure Wealth as the Head of Compliance and MLRO. Priscilla has worked in the Financial Services industry for over 17 years and has been a consultant for a number of years having previously worked for GE Capital. She has significant experience in designing and implementing compliance processes and controls as well as designing risk management frameworks. Her key areas of expertise are governance and risk management.
Nicolas is a Portfolio Manager at Azure Wealth in Geneva with over ten years experience in his field. Prior to joining the firm, he worked 6 years alongside Morteza Firouz at Julius Baer where his responsibilities included investment advisory & trade execution for private clients. Nicolas, in the pure Swiss tradition, started by a banking apprenticeship followed by a graduation with honours from the Graduate school of Banking and Finance in Geneva.
The Office Manager of Azure Wealth, Stacy has the unique ability to anticipate and respond to the exacting requirements of our wealth management clients. Stacy's approach to personal service and administrative expertise is the product of over a dozen years in the world of private banking, where she has worked closely with Massimo Scalabrini, Managing Partner of Azure Wealth, at WMS Ltd, The Chiltern Group, and EFG Private Bank.
Adam is an investment Analyst in Azure’s London office.
Adam began his career at BNP Paribas Fortis Private Bank before joining Barclays as an Analyst in the International Private Bank as a member of the Ultra High Net Worth desk, before covering the Russian, CIS and EE region in addition to the Developed Markets.
Adam earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Management, first class honours, from Royal Holloway University of London and holds the Investment Advice Diploma.
John is a Portfolio Manager at Azure Wealth in London. Prior to joining the firm, he served as an analyst at a private investment firm where his responsibilities included trade execution and investment strategy for a long/short book. John graduated with honours in finance from the University of South Carolina.
